Picture this: you're a leader, and you're feeling frustrated because your teams are struggling to deliver value. You know they have the potential to achieve great things, but for some reason, they just can't seem to get there. What do you do?
Well, luckily for you, I recently appeared on a webinar hosted by Container Solutions titled "WTF is Delivery Management?" where I shared my insights on this exact topic.
During the webinar, we explored everything from the three aspects of enablement (coaching, removing impediments, and facilitating), definitions of Delivery Management, and leadership styles.
We started by discussing the importance of value and how it's at the heart of Delivery Management. If you're not delivering value, then what's the point of delivery? But delivering value isn't always easy, which is where Delivery Management comes in. It's all about enabling teams to work together effectively, removing any obstacles that may be standing in their way, and providing guidance and support as needed.
So, how do you get started with Delivery Management? Well, my advice is to start small and scale up as needed. But remember, it's not just about implementing a new process or framework. It's about creating a culture of enablement that empowers your teams to work together more effectively.
And let's not forget about leadership styles. As a Delivery Manager, it's essential to be someone who is focussed on enabling the team and supporting them in achieving their goals. It's not about being a boss or a micromanager, applying outdated approaches to work.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience to discuss Delivery Management and share my thoughts with the webinar attendees. If you're interested in learning more about how Delivery Management can help your organisation achieve valuable outcomes more effectively, I encourage you to check out Container Solutions' webinar recording. Trust me, it's worth a watch!
